Relying on the network for processes like booting and logging into a desktop ended up being a deal-breaker for me having automounted network home directories.īut I did settle on a solution that works well. Even when the mount worked properly, having it mounted at /home caused performance problems. However, if the share was mounted to /home on the client machine, logging into a desktop environment would fail on account of none of the config files being available. Ubuntu 10.04 would error on boot, but give you the opportunity to skip the mount and continue booting. I had problems where Ubuntu 12.04 would fail to boot if the system failed to mount the network drive properly when the mount was in the fstab.

I tried a few configurations before landing on the one described here. One reason I build this server in the first place was so that I could set up roaming home directories for all my Linux PCs in the house. Your S3 compatible storage must support DNS based bucket naming. As I mentioned in my last post, I just built out a dedicated server at home, and I'm migrating a bunch of services to it.

It's better to move the zip file to your local hard disk for unzipping. In this case move the zip file to subdirectories, unzip the file and move back the unzipped files. Unzip fails if the zip files is located at the root folder or a folder where it's parent folder cannot create a temporary folder (like top most folder of Synology WebDAV). MacOS tries to create a temporary folder in parent folder and unzip files into the temporary folder.

$ sudo kextunload -b Īfter unload some kexts please install NetDrive again to register NetDrive virtual device. You can unload kext using following command. Use following command to list only third party devices. It can list more than hundred devices registered to your system (YMMV). You can list currently registered virtual devices using following command. So if you are using other softwares that uses these device slots NetDrive will not be able to register its virtual device and it cannot connect to remote storages.

The number of available virtual device slots are limited by macOS.

NetDrive needs to register a virtual device for user to access virtual file systems. When you cannot mount remote storage on macOS File listing for other folders are working without any limits.īecause of this limitations, files uploaded to the same folder from other users will be shown when file uploading is finised. For WebDAV, FTP/FTPS, SFTP protocols file list reloading from server will be blocked for a folder where files are being uploaded.
